Two militants and one of their associates were on Saturday morning killed in a gunfight with government forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district , said police .
“Two unidentified terrorists and one hardcore associate of terrorists killed,” the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted. “Search is still going on. Details shall follow”. Reports said teams of government forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Goripora area of Awantipora in the early hours of Saturday after receiving specific information about the presence of militants and a gunfight was triggered after the hiding militants fired on search parties who retailiated .“In the ensuing gunfight, two militants and one hardcore associate of the militants were killed,” the officials said.
