Srinagar ,April19:- Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has appealed to the government to release all the political leaders who are still under house arrest so that they could fulfill their religious obligations together with their families during the ensuing sacred month of Ramadhan. He has also called for release of other detenues of the state lodged in different jails , on humanitarian grounds.
‌ In a statement issued on Sunday , Hakeem Yaseen has said that in view of the ensuing sacred month of Ramadan , the central and state governments should , as a goodwill gesture, release all the political leaders who are still under house arrest . He said , in view of the Coronavirus outbreak , government should also release all such prisoners from jails , who are not involved in serious offences . He said Ramadan is the month of repentance and seeking forgiveness from the Almighty adding that Government should facilitate reunion of maximum number of detenues with their families during this month , on humanitarian grounds .
‌ Hakeem Yaseen has also urged the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir G. C Marmu to device a viable roadmap for gradual evacuation of Kashmiri labourers , students, fruit traders and shawl vendors who are stuck in different states due to countrywide lockdown. ” Utter Pradesh (UP) has already initiated the process to evacuate their students from Kota – coaching hub of Rajasthan ,” Hakeem Yaseen has said while urging the government to take a cue and evacuate it’s stranded students from there. He said migrant labourers , shawl vendors , fruit merchants and students stuck in other parts of the country due to lockdown are in a miserable condition as nothing is left in thier pocket now. He said government was duty-bound to come to the rescue of its people at this crucial stage andust device some kind of a viable roadmap to bring them back while maintaining the due protocol of the lockdown and social distancing.
‌ Hakeem Yaseen has also asked the government to sanction special incentives for the frontline warriors especially doctors, paramedics , sanitation staff and police personnel , fighting dreaded Coronavirus disease as a mark of recognition of their dedicated duties.
