25 new positive cases confirmed Monday include 12 non locals, Tally mounts to 270

Srinagar: The Government Monday informed that 25 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), all from Kashmir division, have been reported Monday, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 270.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19) issued by the Government , out of 270 positive cases, 250 are Active Positive, 16 have recovered and 04 have died.
Furthermore, till date 53679 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been put under surveillance which include 8581 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 354 in Hospital Quarantine, 250 in hospital isolation and 30634 under home surveillance. Besides, 13856 persons have completed their 28-day surveillance period.
Moreover 10, more patients have recovered Monday, 04 are from Kashmir Division (2 SKIMS Soura, 2 JLNM Srinagar) & 06 from Jammu Division (CD Hospital Jammu)
The Bulletin further said 3795 samples have tested as negative till April 13, 2020.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said Srinagar has 70 positive cases wherein 66 are Active Positive, 03 recovered and 01 has died, Bandipora 51 positive cases with 47 Active Positive, 03 recovered and 01 died, Baramulla 40 positive cases with 39 Active Positive, no case has recovered and 01 died, Budgam 11 positive cases all of whom are Active Positive, Pulwama 03 positive cases where 02 Active Positive,01 recovered; Shopian and Kupwara with 14 and 23 positive cases respectively and all are Active Positive, and Ganderbal and Kulgam with 05 and 05 positive cases respectively all of whom are Active Positive.
Similarly, Jammu has 21 positive cases of whom 18 are Active Positive and 03 have recovered, Udhampur 19 positive cases of which 14 are Active Positive, 04 recovered and 01 died, while as Rajouri has 03 positive cases of whom 2 are Active Positive with 01 recovery; Samba district has 04 positive cases which are all active positive. Meanwhile, Kishtwar has only 01 positive case which has recovered.
The Bulletin said the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
Meanwhile, according to the advisory issued in the media bulletin, the general public has been urged to stay indoors, strictly implement social distancing measures, disclose recent travel history to COVID-19 affected countries and report any contact with positive cases voluntarily.
Due to changes in the bodies and immune systems of women during pregnancy, the advisory informed that they can be badly affected by some respiratory infections. “It is therefore important that they take precautions to protect themselves against COVID-19, and report possible symptoms (including fever, cough or difficulty breathing) to their healthcare provider. Pregnant women and women who have recently delivered including those affected by COVID-19 should attend their routine antenatal & postnatal appointments.”
General public is advised to avoid unnecessary visit to hospitals, in case anyone develops fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, seek medical advice promptly. In this regard, people should call on COVID-19 helpline numbers so that they can be provided correct medical advice and directed to the right health facility, if needed.
In case of any emergency, advisory said people can avail free ambulance services 24×7 at their door steps by calling on toll free No. 108. Pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialing toll free No. 102.
Similarly, people can call toll free national helpline number 1075; J&K Covid-19 Helpline Numbers: 0191- 2549676 (UT level Cell), 0191-2520982, 0191-2674444, 0191-2674115; (For Jammu Division), 0194-2440283 & 0194-2430581(For Kashmir Division) for support, guidance, and response to health related queries on Novel Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).
Advisory stressed on personal hygiene, by way of frequent hand washing with soap & water; and observing coughing & sneezing etiquettes and wearing mask or face cover while moving out of home.
Lastly, public are asked to strictly follow the advisories issued by the Government from time to time and are urged to rely only on the information released by the government through the daily media bulletin to print and electronic media.
People are advised to refrain from spreading rumours and pay no heed to them at the same time.
