Jammu, April 13: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu on Monday extended his good wishes to the people on the eve of birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar the architect of Indian constitution.
In his message, the Lt Governor observed that Dr Ambedkar dedicated his entire life for upliftment of the deprived sections of the society. He believed that an ideal society can only be established by ensuring social justice and his services towards the mankind can never be forgotten.
Dr Ambedkar not only took a leading part in the framing of the Indian Constitution, outlawing discrimination against untouchables, but his initiatives have influenced various spheres of life and transformed the way India today looks at socio-economic policies and education, he added.
The Lt Governor urged the people, especially the younger generation to pursue the ideals and messages of Dr Ambedkar which are relevant even today and contribute towards strengthening the principles of social justice and equality.
