Srinagar/April,10:Former EJAC Chairman and a former political leader Abdul Qayoom Wani in statement on Friday exhorted religious scholars, teachers, civil society members and educated youth to intensity awareness campaign to make ongoing lockdown successful to prevent spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Jammu and Kashmir
In a press statement issued here on Friday Wani said that keeping in view the unprecedented increase in the number of positive cases of covid -19 in Jammu and Kashmir, the time has come for religious scoloars ,Teachers ,Civil society & Youth to play a proactive role in making the masses aware about the importance of lockdown and social distancing.
Wani said that number of Covid -19 positive cases is increasing at an alarming rate and it is in no way any good sign for the community to take things easy .
Wani said that those taking social distancing easy and violating the guidelines needs to dealt strictly.
Wani appealed the civil society & youth to help the authorities to impose lockdown strictly
Wani said that in view of increasing number of positive cases and deaths the authorities should be deeply concerned for the preparations to gear up health care system ,infrastructure and result oriented planning .
Wani said that the Government should also implement the WHO guidelines & PPE is most important in preventing the transmission of virus not only in treatment centres but also various other activities like cleaning ,waste management and community clear treatment.
Its time to arrange buffer stock of PPE kits , testing kits ,sanitizers,
masks & medicines to defeat deadly covid -19.
Wani appealed NGO’s and Civil Society employees, and business class to come forward to help the needy in their localities at this difficult time keeping in view the guide lines for social distancing.
