COVID-19: DM G’bal for strict adherence to restrictions

Ganderbal: After first positive COVID-19 case was reported from village Guzhama, tehsil Wakura in the district Ganderbal, District Magistrate (DM), Shafqat Iqbal appealed people of the district to cooperate with the district administration and to adhere to restriction orders to stem the community spread of infection.
The DM declared Guzhama village as Red Zone and its surrounding villages including Batpora and Khanpora as Buffer Zones.
He ordered the concerned to ensure strict imposition of restrictions in the areas which have been declared red and buffer zones in the district.
Invoking prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC, Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, he said there will be no inward and outward movement of any person from the village declared Red zone.
Meanwhile, the DM accompanied by SSP Ganderbal and ADM visited Guzhama village to monitor the situation and review the implementation of prohibitory orders in the area.
He directed the nominated Administrator of Red and Buffer Zones to ensure supply of essential commodities including food grains, LPG, Medicines and other items as per laid down protocols in the villages in close coordination with line departments. Tehsildar, Wakura, BDO and SHO were directed to ensure the implementation of the directions in letter and spirit.
On the occasion, DM interacted with the Sarpanch and Lumberdar of the area and sought their cooperation by way of urging the people of the locality to adhere to the restriction orders for the greater good and safety of the community.
Meanwhile, DM urged all those having travel history of Coronavirus affected countries and who have come in contact with the COVID-19 positive case to immediately contact the established control room, to avert any eventuality.
