Centre amend new JK domicile law as Bukhari meets Home Minister, NSA in Delhi

Srinagar: Amid intensifying resistance over the new domicile law in both Kashmir and Jammu division the central government is all set to amend the law after Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party Chief Syed Mohammad Bukhari called on National Security Advisor Ajeet Doval and Home Minister Amit Shah to convey his displeasure over the controversial clauses of the new domicile law invoke for Jammu & Kashmir since declared a Union Territory .
Talking to Kashmir Horizon Bukhari confirmed that he apprised Home Minster Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval about his party’s reservations on various clauses of the new domicile law. Bukhari said that both National Security Advisor Ajeet Doval and Amit Shah have assured him 100% reservation of all kinds of jobs for only domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir. Saying that he would follow Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti if he fails to get the jobs reserved exclusively for domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir, Bukhari said “I fight for basic rights of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, but don’t struggle for power”. Meanwhile top sources revealed to Kashmir Horizon that Central Government would amend the new Jammu & Kashmir domicile law very shortly. As reported already the under the new domicile law non locals who have resided in parts of Kashmir valley and Jammu divison for a period of 15 years and also those who have studied in J&K for seven years and appeared in either Class 10 or Class 12 exam would be eligible for government jobs. Prior to this, it was the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly that had the right to define a “resident” of the state. Earlier, employment in the state was defined under Article 35 A. However, the dilution of Article 370 and Article 35 A has made the Centre bring into effect new terms of eligibility for jobs for people in the region.
