People’s health is my prime concern: Advisor Baseer on Covid-19 outbreak

Srinagar: In view of COVID-19 outbreak, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor and overall in-charge of Coronavirus Control Efforts (CCE) for Kashmir Division, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Thursday said the health of the people is his prime concern.
To achieve cent percent results, The Advisor is holding a series of meeting on daily basis to review arrangement put in place by line departments in this regard besides, keeping a close watch on the present situation across Kashmir Division.
Advisor directed all Deputy Commissioners to strengthen ground surveillance teams and track the absconding recent travelers, of other states & abroad, on war footing basis and put them at nearby health institutions immediately for proper screening.
The Advisor appealed the people to take the fight against novel Coronavirus infection seriously and come forward to furnish the information of absconding recent traveler, if any, in their locality to district control rooms or to nearby health institutions.
“In present situation, Nambardhars, Sarpanchs, panchs and Councillors should play important role for door to door survey to identify suspected persons”, Khan added.
Khan appealed the citizens to stay indoors and maintain partial lockdown for the benefit of their and their loved ones health.
“People should follow the health advisories which are issued by government in letter and spirit and cooperate with government in present exigency”, he said.
Advisor Baseer Khan made these remarks while chairing a meeting to review the preparedness and arrangements made by district administrations of Bandipora and Kupwara for the containment of the Coronovirus infection.
The meeting was informed that 1000 quarantine rooms each were identified by the twin district administrations at different locations with round the clock basic amenities besides health facilities.
It is given out that the ration will be distributed within five days through home delivery and that there is sufficient stock of LPG and Kerosene oil in these districts.
It was given out that 80 groceries stores were identified for home delivery in the twin districts and transport is being provided by the district administrations. Each district has established three 24X7 control rooms at Tehsil, Block and CMO level to provide information to distress and anxiety callers.
For projected demands, Khan reiterated that funds are not the constraint and all requisite medical equipments will be supplied within two days to the twin districts besides, Personal Protection Equipments will also be provided to all Front-line workers, he added.
Advisor directs Deputy Commissioners to strictly implement Lock-Down across the twin districts.
He directed the concerned to inform the Masjid Committees regarding the present situation and convince them not to hold congregation prayers in mosques.
“From Social Distancing, we could break the chain of infection of Coronavirus disease’’, he reiterated.
Police shall strictly enforce lock-down and FIRs should be register against the violators, he added.
He also directed district administrations to issue emergency passes to the essential services employees and other related persons, after proper verification.
Advisor emphasized that PRIs shall be roped in for (IEC) Information, Education, and Communication activities to inform general public regarding the health advisories.
Advisor Baseer Khan stressed the concerned officers to maintain high level of vigil and alertness regarding COVID-19 scare across the valley.
Concerned officials were present in the meeting where as Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
