Srinagar/March, 20: Terming The pandemic COVID-19 a global catastrophe, the Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has appealed people to cooperate with the administration by adhering the time to time instructions given by authorities as precautionary measures to combat this deadly virus. Chairman JKTJAC Gazi Abdul Aziz and General Secretary Saleem Sagar in a joint statement, suggested that people should follow the necessary guidelines and restrictions adopted time and again by local administration in letter and spirit with an attempt to reduce introduction of the virus into communities and to slow the spread of infection by the virus.They further said that people should avoid social gatherings and maintain social distancing in addition to maintenance of proper hand and body hygiene to protect vulnerable population from any harm from COVID-19.
JKTJAC leaders also appealed people to remain calm and don’t give any heed to rumours, which could create scare and chahos among the people. “Instead we should pray to Allah SWT to protect us from this catastrophe”, they added. They said, “Education Institutions have already been closed by authorities which was a crucial step at this time to combat the spread of Covid-19. However Teachers are always ready and will serve at this hour of urgency whenever and wherever their services would be needed by administration”.
