Volleyball Rolling Trophy (Women’s): Women’s College M.A. Road wins the trophy

Srinagar: The first ever Inter-College Volleyball Rolling Trophy (Women’s), 2020 was organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports, GDC, Ganderbal under the banner of “Sports Festival” 2020, sponsored by the Department of Higher Education (J & k).
The tournament commenced on February and concluded on March 11 in which 23 Colleges of the Valley participated.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Principal of the College, Prof. Bashir Ahmad Parray while Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Hertej Singh, Principal Govt. College of Physical Education, Ganderbal and the Guest of Honour was DYSSO, Sheikh Shafkat Iqbal.
As many as 23 matches were played during the tournament in which host college, GDC, Ganderbal and Govt. Women’s College, M.A. Road confirmed their places in the finals.
The final match was played on March 11 and Govt. Women’s College M.A. Road emerged a winner defeating the host college by 3-1 sets.
On the concluding ceremony, Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nika, Registrar, CUK, Ganderbal acted as the Chief Guest and Dr. Surjit Singh, Coordinator, Department of Physical Education, University of Kashmir was Guest of Honour.
Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nika speaking on the occasion encouraged the participants and urged the students to take active part in sports in order to nourish their health and showcase their talent.
