Furthering government campaign, J&K Bank

Srinagar: Extending further its public outreach programme to boost government’s campaign for saturation of all PM Kisan beneficiaries with Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and increase subscriptions to social security schemes, J&K Bank conducted a series of financial education camps across Rajouri and Poonch during the last week.The bank organised around thirty financial awareness camps through its network of business units in its Jammu (West) zone at Dhanore, Muradpur, Nadian, Kothra, Bainch, Azamabad, Kalal Kass, Sankari, Bandi Kamakhan, Bawli, Bhattian, Ujhan, Manjakote, Potha Surankote, Upper Salwa, Kakora Upper. The bank’s business units also organised many such camps in Khanetar, Dhandi Dhara, Sanghiote, Gurashi Sarr, Dandesar, Sandiote, Dalera, Khanyakote, Narr, Kotedhara, Badhoon Panchayat and Islamabad in Poonch city. More than 2000 people participated in the outreach programs that were attended by localfarmers, members of the trade and business community, and prominent persons besides senior citizens of the respective areas.

During the camps, the officials of the bank highlighted the scope of the Central Sector Scheme- PM KISAN that has 100 per cent funding from Government of India. The officials laid stress on the saturation of all PM-KISAN beneficiaries with Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) and urged people to come forward to avail the low interest facilities under KCC Scheme. During these camps, the participants were also informed about the KCC scheme (crop loan) and the steps taken by J& K Bank to simplify the procedure of account opening of PM KISAN beneficiaries. About 350 participants attending these camps availed the KCC facility and an amount of around Rs 15 lacs was disbursed during these camps.On the occasions, the bank’s officials and Financial Literacy and Credit Counselors (FLCCs) also informed the people about the benefits of social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) besides delineating the claim processes. Dozens of accounts were also opened in the social security scheme segments  during these outreach programs. Moreover, the participants were also educated regarding the importance of seeding Aadhaar and mobile numbers with their respective saving bank accounts.
