Jammu: Member, Central Waqf Council and Chairperson, Waqf Development Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Friday met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu here at the Raj Bhavan.
Dr. Andrabi also apprised the Lt Governor about several measures initiated by the Council for protection and retrieval of the Waqf Properties. She also submitted a memorandum which included suggested measures for making the education sector more effective by way of making the public libraries and those in educational institutes better equipped with latest publications and books in various Modern Indian Languages. She also suggested rationalisation of the teaching faculty in educational institutions and the need for organizing Multi-Lingual Symposiums and cultural programs across the UT, restructuring of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages etc.
The Lt Governor assured Dr. Andrabi that all these important matters would be given due consideration and urged her to continue sustained endeavors towards ensuring Public welfare.
