FCS&CA conducts market checking in Bandipora

Bandipora: A market checking squad of Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Wednesday realized a fine of Rs 2350 from erring shopkeepers in the district.
Taking strong note of the complaints, the district administration has launched a massive district-wide inspection drive to curb over, black marketing and profiteering.
The team conducted inspection of various business establishments including vegetable, fruit sellers, poultry, mutton sellers, Kiryana, Bakery, LPG distributors and fuel dispensing pumps at Bandipora, market and booked 13 traders under variousprovisions of legal metrology laws.
On the occasion, officers asked the traders to follow the rules in letter and spirit and also asked the vendors to follow the packaged commodity rules and other Metrology Acts.
Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza said that the drive will continue across all district markets to keep check on traders and shopkeepers.
