Srinagar : Though bone chilling cold is yet to end this winter in Kashmir valley but improvement in night temperature for the first time from during last two months has brought long awaited respite to the people in Kashmir valley. However Ladhak region continues to shiver with intense cold as Drass was the coldest place at minus 24 degree Celsius and Leh was shivering at minus to 22.4 degree Celsius .
When contacted a Meteorological department spokesman told Kashmir Horizon over phone “ rain or snow would occur at scattered places in Kashmir valley and light rains may be witnessed at isolated places in Jammu region”, adding that “ dry weather would prevail across Jammu and Kashmir from Thursday onwards.
In Kashmir Gulmarg the coldest place in the valley at minus 10.1 degree followed by Pahalgam at minus 6.6 degree. Though freezing night temperature went down by 2 degree but the chill further intensified as the day progressed due to overcast conditions in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley.
