Srinagar: Pointing out towards resumption of internet services in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh Tuesday said that people of Jammu and Kashmir will likely to hear good news in coming days. He also said Jammu and Kashmir Police has effectively tackled militancy and other law related issues during the year and ensured no civilian killings while fighting against militancy and maintenance of peace and order.

According to JKNS correspondent, DGP flanked by other senior officials of JKP held a press conference at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu where he indirectly pointed out resumption of internet services across J&K. “People of Jammu and Kashmir will likely to hear good news in coming days”, DGP said.

Notably authorities of Jammu and Kashmir have snapped communication services on all platforms on August 4 hours before central government abrogated special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and downsized the erstwhile state into two Union Territories (UT’s) – Ladakh and J&K.

DGP while addressing media personnel explained the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police played during the year 2019. He said “be it anti-militancy operation or law and order related issues, J&K Police has effectively rendered its services at every front”.

“Jammu and Kashmir Police has played a significant role while taking part in anti-militancy operations and also performed its designated duties gracefully while maintaining cooperation with other security agencies. Besides Army, CRPF and other security agencies, Jammu and Kashmir Police has also played vital role in fighting anti-law and anti-peace elements”, Singh elaborated.

He added, “with the efforts utilized by J&K Police personnel, militancy has been downed in every Jammu and Kashmir especially in southern areas which once was considered hot bed of militancy”.

According to DGP Dilbagh Singh, J&K Police while fighting militancy and maintenance of law and order in the state, it ensured safety and safeguard of civilian population. “During the year 2019, especially after August 5, J&K Police dealt the situation with professional methods due to which no civilian lost his life”, he added.

He further said that Jammu and Kashmir Police while maintaining smooth vehicular movement across the state have fined thousands of drivers during the year who used to park their vehicles on non-designated spots. He said J&K Police have fined 15 crore rupee from those who violated the norms of traffic.
