Srinagar: Hitting out at the BJP for accusing him of spreading the rumours in view of deployment of additional forces in the valley, former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah said the saffron party and the government need to coordinate better instead of lying.
Abdullah, who is the Vice President of National Conference (NC), said that the orders issued by J&K Police mentions words like ‘special law & order duties’. “The order also asks about shortfall of riot control equipment/gas guns etc,” he added.
Are we imagining such orders issued by J&K Police, Abdullah asked.
“Please ask him if we are imagining such orders issued by J&K Police where the words “special law & order duties” are mentioned. The order also asks about shortfall of “riot control equipment/gas guns etc”. May be the BJP & the government need to coordinate better instead of lying,” Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter. He also posted the order copy along with his tweet.
Abdullah was responding to comments made by BJP state president Ravinder Raina, alleging that the NC Vice President was spreading rumours about the reason for deployment of additional troops in the valley to create fear among people.
Apart from security forces deployed for the security of Amarnath yatra and counter-militancy operations, about 100 additional companies have been deployed in the valley.
On Saturday, Minister of Home Affairs of India (MHA) ordered the deployment of 10,000 paramilitary personnel, ostensibly, for ‘counter-insurgency’ and for maintaining ‘law and order’ in the Valley, triggering fear among locals.
