New Delhi/July,27 :Two militants were on Saturday killed in a gunfight with the government forces in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said.
Police launched a cordon and search operation based on specific information about the presence of militants in the Bonbazar area of the south Kashmir district, a police official said, adding that the the hiding militants fired upon a search party which retaliated and gunfight erupted. “In the exchange of fire two militants were killed.The operation was still going on and the identity of slain militants is yet to be ascertained”, the official said.
