Srinagar/July 21: Reacting to the statement of defense minister Rajnath Singh the Hurriyat Conference(G) Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani Sunday said that Rajnath’s remark “Kashmir issue will be resolved soon”, has pricked the balloon of deceitful rhetoric of “Atoot Ang”.
Saying that resolutions are sought only for disputed and unresolved issues so even subconsciously, Geelani claimed that rulers in Delhi have accepted Jammu and Kashmir a dispute, the resolution of which, they say, is going to be very soon.

Completely rejecting the assertion that “they only will resolve it and nobody can question”, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman said that Kashmir dispute is Himalaya like reality and such utterances from Delhi rulers are not only far from reality but a sign of highhandedness and arrogance. Saying that Kashmir issue is a long pending dispute, live on the UN agenda, Geelani said that it has consumed more than 3 generations of the state and still continues to be a threat the existence of yet another generation.
Warning the consequences of any one sided resolution of long pending Kashmir issue the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman said
“lakhs of people have sacrificed their lives, with death and destruction visible in every nook and corner of the state, scores of widows and orphans, unending suffocating and uncertain situation along with the aspirations of the people in the light of its historical facts—all need to be taken into account before jumping to the conclusion of this grave issue”.
Asking that had it been only up to India to solve it, Geelani said it had forcibly and militarily occupied it long before, Geelani said that “despite their might and unparalleled oppression—Kashmir issue is still existing like a monster, endangering the peace and prosperity of not only the subcontinent but the whole world as well” .
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman said that “when India itself was fighting the British rule, their occupier also used to threaten them that freedom from “British is not possible”. Saying that” time has proved that souls cannot be suppressed for too long and no matter how big and mighty the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman said “occupier is—it has to leave the forced control and India too will have to vacate this land like Britishers vacated Indian soil” .
Alleging that Kashmiries have been enslaved for decades and every oppressor has proved his muscle to the maximum—creating countless deaths, scores of graveyards and with mass arrests for years together, Geelani said “freedom sentiments are flourishing more than before and go on increasing with each passing day” .
Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman said “honestly suggesting Indian rulers Hurriyat chairman said that they should take concrete steps for permanent resolution of this issue and then focus on the upliftment of life standard of their poor population” .
