Srinagar police arrests 01 drug peddler, contraband substance recovered

Srinagar: Police in its recent action targeting drug dealings in Srinagar arrested one person at a checkpoint and seized contraband substance from his possession.
One person identified as Ishaan Najar son of Ghulam Qadir Najar resident of Pathar Masjid Zaina Kadal was arrested for drug supply offences and shifted to Police Station Karan Nagar where he remains in custody.
Officers at the checkpoint established near Syed Mansoor Bridge intercepted a motor cycle bearing registration number JK01L-0605 and seized Charas weighing 105gms from possession of Ishaan Najar. Two wheeler has also been seized in the matter.
Case FIR No. 29/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Karan Nagar and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
