Srinagar/May,15:  While reacting to the statement of Mehbooba Mufti, wherein she had said that people have to choose between ISIS and Kashmiriyat, Hurriyat Conference (g) on Monday denounced the statement, saying people have opted for freedom and rejected slavery, so no question arises to ask people about their choice.
A spokesperson of the amalgam, in a statement issued here on Monday said, “People from different faiths are living in complete harmony and there is no threat for mutual brotherhood and accord between the followers of different religions.”
However Indian forces under well thought out plan are carrying genocide in the state, he said.
Reacting to the statement, the spokesperson said that it is a deliberate attempt to cover up wrongdoings and atrocities inflicted by Indian forces. They are desperate to discredit and malign ongoing freedom struggle and as such giving unnecessary hype to “ISIS” threat, he said.
Commenting over the communal harmony between followers of different faiths in statehe said that Muslims, despite in majority, have always respected and remained generous towards minority communities.
While referring to statement of Mehbooba Mufti for her “Masjid, temple & Gurdwara” remarks, he said that these places of worship are safe because we have no “Yogi Aditya Nath, Praveen Togadiya ‘’ like persons nor it is Narindra Modi’s Gujrat.
“Indian forces are responsible for the continued violence and killings in Kashmir,” said the spokesperson, while commenting over her statement wherein she said that “violence has yielded nothing, and brought only destruction”.
The spokesperson said that innocent people are being killed, maimed and blinded. “Thousands are languishing in jails and police lock ups and ill-treated and humiliated.”
“It is the outcome and resentment against atrocities and rigid approach of Indian authorities that our youngsters are daring to challenge Indian hegemony,” the spokesperson said.
He, while referring to Zubair Ahmad Turey of Shopian, said that since last several years police chased, haunted and humiliated him. During this period, more than eight Public Safety Acts were slapped against him.
“Even though court quashed his case and bailed him out, however instead of honoring court orders, police were continuously shifting him to different jails. Let Mehbooba come with explanation as what was the option left for said youth, other than to join brave hearts & in such circumstances even her son would have made similar choice, said spokesman. It is a universal truth and nobody can deny veracity of this hash truth. India continues its forced occupation with its military might and has no moral or constitutional right over state,” he said, adding, that fanatical mindset and autocratic approach of India has taken a heavy toll of precious lives in this beautiful place of world.
“People prefer freedom over slavery while as Mehbooba Mufti and likeminded people have no choice but to bow their head,” he concluded.
