Hajin: An 18 year old youth died while as his sister was rescued when a boat capsized in river at Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday.
Reports reaching to KNO said that a boat carrying two family members capsized when they were carrying a motorcycle in a boat to another side of the river.
Following the incident, a joint team of police and local volunteers began their operation and they recovered drowned youth and rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Reports told KNO that youth drowned to death and his body was recovered while his sister was rescued from the river by the locals and police. The deceased was identified as Lateef ahmad Dar s/o Reyaz Ahmad Dar residents of Gulamyari Banyari area of Hajin.
A Senior police officer confirmed the incident to KNO and said that police retrieved the dead body of drowned youth and was taken to nearby hospital for medico legal formalities.
