Multi-activities mark Day 2 of ‘Back to Village’ programme in Chenab Valley

JAMMU: The ‘Back to the Village’ initiative today entered its second day with massive Gram Sabhas besides holding of awareness camps, interactions with locals, Panchs and Sarpanchs, inspections plantation drives by the visiting officers in all the allotted Panchayats of districts if the Chenab Valley.

The PM’s letter addressed to Gram Sabhas was also read out to the PRIs and villagers during the events observed during the programme.

In Ramban, on second day of the programme, District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, along with district officers visited various Panchyats including Seri, Digdol, Maroge, Kunfer.

DDC interacted with the PRIs, public and  designated officers and took stock of the activities being carried out under the programme.

He launched plantation drive at Seri and Chanderkot besides distributing Ayushman Baharat Scheme golden cards and Soil Health Cards among the beneficiaries. He appealed the participants to    conserve natural resources and go for rain water harvesting.

The visiting officers interacted with the representatives of PRIs and general public especially with women during women Gram Sabhas and took a detailed appraisal of their grievances and problems.

The officers also inaugurated Community Toilets, Community Halls  and several other development works besides constituting social Audit Committees in all the Panchyats. They also inspected schools, health institutions, AWCs, water bodies, tube wells, and water and power supply schemes, ongoing development works besides private enterprises.

Various departments also organised cultural and sports events.

In Reasi, activities including the inauguration of a culvert and distribution of job cards among beneficiaries at panchayat Mari A, block Reasi by Joint Director RDD, Jammu, Subash Chander, cleanliness drives, inspection of ration depots and Aanganwadi centres, plantation drives by the visiting officers marked the day two of the programme.

The visiting officers including CEO JADKEDA, Arvind Sharma, Joint Director Revenue Department Jammu, Ved Prakash, Deputy Director Planning, Soil & Conservation, Munish Dutta and Incharge Accounts Officer, Raghuvir conducted various activities in their allotted panchayats.

In Kishtwar, the second day of the ambitious project witnessed Gram Sabhas with focus of women participation, distribution of PRCs and Job Cards, besides awareness on various central and state-sponsored schemes.

The designated officers also held interaction with the PRIs and locals besides conducting inspection of several public utilities.

In Doda, activities like cultural programs, issuances of job cards, ration cards, field visits, inaugurations, Gram Sabha, the constitution of social audit teams, execution of works under Shramdan at various locations etc marked the day two of the programme.

District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, visited various Panchayats of Bhaderwah, Bhala and Assar block and attended the Gram Sabhas. He had feedback from the people regarding the implementation of various development works in the areas besides assessing public grievances. He took stock of grievances of the public, inaugurated parks, tile works and other public utilities.
