Missing Budgam youth joins militant ranks, picture goes viral

Budgam: A missing youth from Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district has reportedly joined the militant ranks. A picture of Muzaffar Ahmad Wani, son of Gulam Ahmad Wani in which he could be seen brandishing weapon, went viral on social media.

The youth has been given a code name Abu Anas. The youth belongs to Daulatpora Chadoora. Muzaffar as per reports was missing since 13 June from his residence.

Earlier, the parents of Muzafar had appealed their son to return.  “We request everyone to let go our son, so that his parents won’t have to suffer. They are both suffering from different ailments.” said a family member to KNO. Reports reaching to KNO stated that the viral picture in which Muzaffar was viral on social media triggering fears that he may have joined the militant ranks.

According to the viral picture, Muzaffar has joined Hizbul Mujahideen on June 13. Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam told KNO that missing report was registered in the concerned police station. “We are verifying the authenticity of the picture,” he said.
