An organisation of Students and budding leaders

Kashmir Law Circle is an organisation of students. The principal objective of Kashmir Law Circle is to provide free and competent legal services to every sections of the society and to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organize different legal awareness programs at different places. Kashmir Law circle aims to promote access to justice in Kashmir Valley by providing and fostering quality pro bono legal services & awareness to the citizens of Valley. To contribute to the struggles for justice, equality & Human Rights for all the citizens. Kashmir Law Circle aims to promote Student activism through valley. Student activism is defined as the involvement of individual students in group activities aimed at defending their interests and bringing about changes in systems, policies, attitudes, knowledge, and behaviours regarding issues affecting university life or society at large. Activism is a part of the spectrum of the student voice. Student activism plays a very important role in the life of a University student. Whilst the books, the studying and spending time researching at the library are paramount to achieving your career goals, student activism offers experience and skills that no book can ever teach you. A comfort zone provides a state of mental security. Student activism truly helps you move away from what you are usually comfortable with. It is an experience whereby; you constantly challenge yourself. At first, a student activist may hesitate to step out of his/her comfort zone as they engage in important meetings, organise a high profile event, or take part in something which he/she has never encountered before. However, in the long run this challenge will result to be beneficial. As you carry out a role within an organisation, you might be surprised with what a student is capable of doing. Student Activism truly helps you discover more about who you are and how far you can go.
Some of the Prime objectives of Kashmir Law Circle: To seek the enhancement of the rule of law and promote the protection of Human Rights. To give all necessary assistance to the effective implementation of any legal aid scheme established and governed under any Law. To safeguard the rights and interests of the people of the State of Kashmir, by being the defender of and advocate for the people, and undertaking appropriate legal and other actions on their behalf. To protect the State’s interest in all legal matters by providing excellent and timely legal advice and representation to the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. To assist and coordinate state wide programs and activities that improve the criminal justice system and law enforcement for the welfare of citizens. To encourage and popularise voluntary work. To encourage and popularise voluntary work. To educate the people for adoption of the good norms of a good citizenship and to inculcate into the people’s mind, ideals of national unity. To work for uplifting the status of women in the society. To work against female circumcision and to fight against the victimization of girl /women by anybody in the society on female circumcision or any other related issues. To organise forums, seminars, camps etc for spreading good living habits, moral values, Kashmiri culture, and methods of developing self-confidence etc. and to create centres throughout the country for the above activities. To educate people against taking drugs and Alcohol. To work against dowry system and to raise voice against the victimization of girl/women by anybody in the society due to dowry related things. To organise religious camps for spreading good living habits, moral values, Indian culture, Kashmiri Culture methods of developing self-confidence etc and to create religious centre for the above activities. To work for the uplifting Poor Rural/Village people for their all-round development. To undertake any other work or assignment which may be for the general welfare of the people.
Kashmir Law Circle now a days known as Round-Tabler’s of valley. President Kashmir Law believes that it is the organisation which restored the Round-Table Conferences in Valley. Kashmir Law Circle involves the whole district administration in conferences in order to make the conferences much fruitful in practical field. As of now Kashmir Law Circle held several events including two Round-Table Conferences at Ganderbal and Budgam. The conferences were attended by whole District administration and other IAS, KAS,Orators,Educators, Speakers, Students attended as well. In coming November Kashmir Law is going to held a Youth Parliament in New Delhi at Delhi University. Activism is developmental in nature and enables students and members of Kashmir Law Circle to come up with useful solutions to problems. Student Activism is a perfect platform to speak your mind, voice your opinions and push forward your ideas with your team. With all the ups and downs of being active as a student, at the end of the day, being part of something bigger offers you loads of beautiful memories that you will keep on recalling for most of your life. As a student challenges his own self to step out of what he or she usually comfortable with, student will instantly learn how much student activism helps in boosting one’s confidence. Reaching targets, working in a team and being part of something bigger helps you be more confident in your everyday life. The Slogan of Kashmir Law Circle is “Everyone is protected by Law, be aware, be safe.”
