Shopian,/June, 11 : Two militants were on Tuesday morning killed in a gunfight between the government forces and the militants in Awneera village of zainapora area in South kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official said two militants were on Tuesday morning killed after a cordon and search operation by join team of Ist RR, CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. On intensifying the search operation towards the suspected spot, militants hiding fired upon forces which was retaliated triggering gunfight, he said
He said that identity of slain militants is being ascertained while locals said that the killed militants are believed to be locals belonging to ISJK outfit.
