Sopore: Two policemen were injured in a grenade attack that took place in in main town Sopore area of Northern Kashmir baramulla district on Friday afternoon.
Official sources said that the suspected militants hurled a grenade towards a police station in Sopore which exploded within the premises of the Police Station, leaving two cops wounded.
They said the cops received minor injuries. “A grenade exploded with a loud bang within the premises of our station and left two policemen injured,” a senior police official told KNO. The officer identified the injured cops as Abdul Aziz and Ali Mohammad.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sopore Javid Iqbal also confirmed the incident to KNO, stating the injured cops were rushed to hospital for further treatment.
