Forces are working in a close synergy; he said, adding that DySP Aman Thakur was killed while he was rescuing an injured Army trooper, which exhibited the level of coordination between different forces. He further added that police on daily basis is achieving results against those involved in narcotics peddling.
Highlighting importance of technology and crime detection, DGP Singh stressed upon the police personnel to equip themselves with the more professional skills to achieve better successes in our fight against crime and militancy.
DGP while addressing police personnel and officers at District Police Lines Rajouri and Poonch during his visit to the twin districts Tuesday impressed upon police that they should be people friendly but should be tough against criminals.
He was accompanied by IGP Vijay Kumar and DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Vivek Gupta. The visit was part of the series of his visits to the districts of Jammu Zone. Earlier DGP visited Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Gool, Mahore, Reasi and Udhampur districts of Jammu Zone.
In his address to police personnel, DGP said that J&K Police is achieving successes against terrorism for which the force has been praised at national level. The contribution of police in conducting recent Lok Sabha elections has also been appreciated which has boosted morale of the force and created extra energy to work with more spirit and dedication.
HE said that drug abuse has become a great challenge for the society and the force has braced up to eliminate the menace from the society. He said that drug abuse destroys the society and J&K Police has made it a missionary task to tighten nose against all those indulged in the trade and transportation of narcotic substances. He said that peddlers should be booked under PSA to curb their malpractices and bring them to justice.
Dilbag Singh said that training skills and techniques of the police personnel are being upgraded to make them capable in their respective fields. Required modifications in the syllabus have been made to get good results.
Pre-promotion trainings are imparted at Range level and courses have been designed to give a new pace to trainings. All the ranks in the force are committed together to safeguard the interests of the nation and keep the flag of the organization high, he said.
He said that contribution of SPOs is appreciable and the department is taking due care of their interests. PHQ is on job to identify more measures for creating promotion avenues for all ranks in the department. DGP rewarded police personnel for their performance. He also announced bada-khana for the personnel.
