Srinagar: Scores of people on Sunday protested in a village in central Kashmir district of Budgam against arrest of several youths, one of whom were released allegedly in a critical condition.
Scores of people hit the streets at Soibugh in Budgam against the arrest of over half-a-dozen youths from the village for their alleged involvement in stone pelting after the killing of Ansar Gazwatul Hind chief Zakir Musa in a 12-hour-long encounter with security forces in Pulwama district on Friday.
The protestors alleged that security forces arrested over half-a-dozen youth on Friday after protests against the killing of the militant commander. “Two of the youths were released by security forces. However, both of them were ruthlessly thrashed,” they alleged.
They said one of the injured was referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in a critical condition. “The protestors demanded the release of the remaining youth. They sought strict action against the security forces personnel responsible for thrashing the youth in custody,” they said.
