Khansahib(Budgam): Chairman,Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Yaseen on Tuesday paid tributes to Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq and Peoples Conference Founder Abdul Ghani
Lone on their death anniversaries.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, PDF Chairman said that contribution and sacrifice offered by
Late Mirwaiz Farooq for socio-political rights of Kashmiris would be remembered for times to come. He said Late Mirwaiz groomed, guided and enriched the people of the state about their social,religious and political rights.
” Late Molvi Farooq was not only the religious leader of Kashmiri people but represented their political aspirations as well, ” Hakeem Yaseen remarked while paying glowing tributes to him. He said “Late Mirwaiz throughout his life vehemently advocated for resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Acknowledging that late Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq played a significant role in bringing social reforms in the society, Hakeem said Muslim ummah particularly Kashmiris are indebted to his remarkable contribution in imbibing moral and religious values in the society.
Eulogizing the role played by Peoples Conference Founder Abdul Ghani Lone in the political awakening of people, Hakeem Yaseen said that he devoted his whole life for upholding honour and dignity of the people of Kashmir and wanted a peaceful resolution of Kashmir problem through a tripartite dialogue process between India,Pakistan and the representatives of Jammu and Kashmir. Hakeem also prayed for eternal peace to the souls of both Late Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq and Abdul Ghani Lone.
It may be recalled that Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammaf Farooq was assassinated on 21 May 1990 by gunmen at his Nigeen residence while as Abdul Ghani Lone was killed on 21st May 2002 at Eidgah Srinagar.
