Missing Bandipora teacher found dead in Wular lake, body recovered

Bandipora: A teacher who had gone missing after he left for his duty last week in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district was on Monday morning found dead in Wular lake. Meanwhile police has started investigating the cause of the death of the teacher under 147 Crpc.
Officials said the body of Mushtaq Ahmad Lone of Sheikhpora locality of Mantrigram village was recovered in the morning from Wular lake in Laharwalapora village, adding that “the locals of Laharwalpora informed police after spotting the in the Wular of Lake after which the body was taken to district hospital Bandipora for postmortem. He was identified by his brother and his relatives in the hospital”.
Mushtaq had gone missing on May 13 when he had left from home to attend his duty at government high secondary school Chuntimulla where he was posted as a teacher.
On May 18, family members and locals of Mantrigam village held a protest demonstration to seek his whereabouts.
Meanwhile police started investigations of the case under 147 Crpc soon after the recovery of the body of missing teacher identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Lone S/o Ab.Rehman Lone R/o Sheikpora Mantrigam Bandipora from Wular lake near LaharwalPora. The teacher was missing since April 13 this year.
In a statement issued here on Monday police said “the body of the deceased person was spotted by locals in wular lake and accordingly police reached on the spot & took the body in to their custody. FSL team was rushed to the spot.The medical team has been constituted for postmortem which includes experts from GMC Srinagar and will be conducted in the presence of Magistrate.”
Saying that” proper photography and videography is being done of entire proceedings”, the police in its statement also said that moreover all other medico legal formalities are being done and an enquiry under section 174 CrPC has been initiated to ascertain the actual cause of death.
Police also asked people not to pay heed to rumors warning that misusing social media to spread rumors is punishable under law.
