Srinagar/May, 18 : Two militants were Saturday morning killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Panzgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police said the following inputs about the presence of militants in Panzgam village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district the government forces lunch a cordon and search operation in the area during which the hiding militants were challenged but they opened fire triggering a gunfight.
Saying that “two militants were killed and their bodies have been recovered”, Police said “although firing exchanges have now stopped, the operation is still on,” adding that “one of the slain militants has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Dar, a resident of Panzgam village and belonged to the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit” .
The identity and group affiliation of the other slain militant is yet to be ascertained, reports emanating from the area said.The official confirmation on the identity of the slain militants is yet to come.
