Srinagar/May,14 : Shutdown called by the transporters union against the imposition of toll tax on Tuesday hit normal life in South Kashmir . As already reported the protesting transporters demand exemption of toll tax for Kashmir vehicles at Kai-Chachkoot toll plaza near Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Reports said that movement of locals was disrupted due to the strike by the transporters. Governor Satya Pal Malik has assured that the locals will be exempted from tax as he said that the administration has already taken up the matter with the central government but due to ongoing election process the order of tax revocation has got delayed.
