Though PDP President Mehbooba Mufti while in power choose to put her feet into the shoes of hereditary politics and brought her own brother Tasaduq Mufti over the heads of several of her senior party colleagues but today Tasaduq is seen no where on the political scene and he did not appear even in a single election rally of PDP in the just concluded parliamentary elections. To induct her brother Tasaduq into the cabinet months before the fall of her government Mehbooba Mufti sought resignation from her maternal uncle Farooq Andrabi who was representing Dooru assembly constituency in the previous assembly . She had virtually made Andrabi a sacrificial lamb for inducting her cinematographer-turned-politician brother into the cabinet after recommending him to the legislative council on the controversial nomination quota. Interestingly the Andrabi had the distinction of wresting Dooru assembly seat from the present state congress president Gh Ahmed Mir after twelve years but was rewarded with unceremonious removal from the cabinet to pave way for the induction of Tasaduq Mufti a cinematographer-turned-politician into the cabinet . Knowing that Tasaduq was not found fit for politics even by his father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed a two time former chief minister during his life time , Mehbooba should not have brought him over the heads of her senior party colleagues. As such by all standards of standards of political understandabilities, the people of Jammu & Kashmir reserve the right to ask Mehbooba Mufti that how come she found her cinematographer brother fit for politics when he was found unfit for politics by his own father late Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed himself a too time former Chief Minister and party’s founder.
Today when Tasaduq could not appear even in a single election rally in the just concluded parliamentary elections Mehbooba owes an explanation to the people of Kashmir over hasty induction her brother into the cabinet. Since the induction of Tasaduq Mufti a non entity in state politics triggered huge dissidence in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), the party men reserve the right to ask Mehbooba to explain as to why Tasaduq did not appear even once in a single election rally during the just concluded parliamentary elections in the state. People are politically conscious enough to understand that Mehbooba Mufti had preferred to keep control of her party with herself and the cinematographer brother Tasaduq Mufti but the dearest of the Mufti family has proved those critics right who had said that Tasaduq was found unfit for politics even by his father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed a too time farmer Chief Minister.
