Srinagar/April, 18 :  Senior political actvist and contesting candidate from Baramulla parliamentary constituency Najeeb Naqvi Thursday said that thrashing of SDM during duty hours shows the lawlessness in our state, and saying that ‘if a magistrate cannot perform his duties safely ,what a common man expect from the Governor’s administration’ .

Alleging that the army is using its might to harass common people under the garb of highway restrictions just to put general public in a state of helplessness Naqvi said ‘restricting the movement of public transport on highway for two days shows the inability of Governor’s administration to tackle the routine issues on day to day basis”, adding that  “to ease out their own problems they have restricted the movement, given unbridled authority to the army and other security agencies to thrash officers and general public.”

Saying that actions of army and paramilitaries show that they do whatever they want to implement on ground, Naqvi said ‘ police has become a toothless force as  laws and rules are being flouted every day in a biggest democratic set up of our country.’
