Srinagar:  Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club (JKHC) Thursday hailed Advisor Khurshid A Ganai for holding interaction with the travel and hospitality sector here at TRC Conference Hall.

Hoteliers Club was represented by its is Secretary General Tariq Rashid Ghani and Secretary Gulmarg Chapter of Hoteliers Club Akib Chaya who apprised him about the success of FAM tours of leading travel agents and media persons.

Notably, J&K Tourism and J&K Hoteliers Club led by its Chairman Mushtaq Chaya organised grand show “J&K Tourism Conclave” at Mumbai which helped promote State’s tourism sector among the Maharashtra travel agents.

Advisor Ganai was the chief guest in the road show who invited the travel agents and media persons on a FAM tour to Kashmir. Seven media persons and 32 tour operators from Maharashtra visited Kashmir as part of the trip who vowed to promote Kashmir.

Chaya made extensive efforts to invite the delegation and also held interactions with them at Srinagar and Gulmarg and urged them to promote Kashmir among the travellers.

During today’s meeting, Advisor Ganai expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of FAM trip.

“The success of FAM trip which was a sequel to Mumbai Road Show by Hoteliers Club was widely hailed in the meeting,” said Tariq Ghani.

In a statement, J&KHC said they urged the advisor that brochures should be translated into different regional languages to reach out to the rural masses of the country also.

“Advisor Governor gave on spot directions to the Directorate for making brochures in Marathi, Tamil, Hindi, Urdu Bangali languages,” said JKHC statement.

It said the advisor also gave on spot direction to the Chief Engineer PDD to provide round the clock supply to the tourist resorts like Gulmarg and Pahalgam.

Hoteliers Club also informed the Advisor that many locals also visit these prime tourist resorts on Weekend but the highway closure will hamper local footfall.

“The advisor asked Director Tourism to write to Police about making relaxation on Sunday and he also said he would take up the matter with the Governor,” read the statement.

Tariq Ghani further said that Hoteliers Club also took the issue of GST reimbursement with the advisor and also urged him to extend the industrial benefits of power to the hotels.
