Kargil: A team of District Administration Monday conducted intensive market inspection in Kargil town to check the quality and prices of essential commodities
During the course of inspection, the team conducted checking of around 120 shops, business establishments, hotels, tea stalls etc. and recovered a fine of Rs 15300 for violating the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and Essential Commodities Act.
The team also took stock of the hygienic conditions and quality of food items available in the market, charging of rates and other set standards. The shopkeepers and traders were asked to display the rate list prominently at their establishments besides maintaining cleanliness.
