DEO Jammu inspects EVM strong rooms

Jammu: District Election Officer Jammu Ramesh Kumar Friday inspected the strong rooms established for collection of Electronic Voting Machines here at MAM College and Government Polytechnic College.
The DEO inspected the preparedness of different departments regarding the arrangements for the control rooms as per the duties assigned to them earlier.
He directed for proper barricading at both the centres in coordination with security agencies and the PWD.
Regarding collection counters, necessary directions were passed to the Assistant Returning Officers of each assembly segment.
For deployment of staff and collection of EVMs, necessary directions have already been passed to the Director Accounts and Treasuries to provide sufficient man power.
The DEO also passed necessary directions to the PWD authorities to make available sufficient space for storage of EVMs.
He stressed on meeting the parameters of ECI for storage of EVMS/VVPATs including CCTV coverage and deployment of the sufficient number of police personnel for maintenance of law and order.
The DEO was accompanied by ADC Jammu Rishpal Singh, SDM Chowki Chora Chand Kishore Shrma, Executive Engineers and other Nodal Officers from the concerned departments.
