Blessing of the holy month of Rajab

As prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to say: “O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha’baan blessed for us and let us reach the month of Ramadan”, the particularity of Rajab is that it is isolated while the other three sacred months are consecutive. Fortunate for muslim umah that the sacred month of Rajab precedes two other important months in the muslim calendar: the months of Sha’baan and Ramadan. Furthermore, one of the numerous importances of Rajab (one of the most) is that it is the month of Allah, whereas Sha’baan is the month of the prophet (SAW) and Ramadan the month of the Ummah (The entire Muslim community). As a sacred month, muslims are strongly advised during Rajab month to get closer to the Almighty Allah and more importantly to refrain from committing sins.
Sins are forbidden in the whole year and are strongly forbidden during the sacred months. It is also in the sacred month of Rajab that Allah invited the prophet Muhammad (SAW) to make Al-Isra’ wal Mi’raj: This nocturnal journey occurred after the prophet Muhammad (SAW) had encountered a period of serious hardship caused by the disbelievers during the accomplishment of his Da’wa (Call to Islam) mission. Then he decided to travel to Ta’if, a country located at a few kilometers from the holy city of Mekkah, in the hope to find support.
Unfortunately, the campaign of hatred and lies against Prophet (SAW) and Islam had reached Ta’if before he set off for Ta’if and was welcome by stones and slogans of hatred. Injured, the noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) sat under a tree and addressed this prayer full of emotion and conviction to the Almighty Allah:”O my Lord! It is only to you that I express the weakness of my power, the limitation of my plan and my weakness before people. O my Lord! The most Beneficent of all, you are surely the Lord of the weeks and you are my Lord to whom will you recommend me (to take care of me)? To a stranger who ignores me or to an enemy with whom you have kept my affairs? If you do not hold any anger for me so I do not care (about these hardships), but your grace is wider. I seek refuge in the lights of your face from which the darkness is lighten and every affair of this world and the hereafter get solution, from sending down your anger on me or being caught by your anger; the return is towards you till you agree, no power nor force except from you” It is after this event of Ta’if that Allah invited Prophet (SAW) on the night of 27 Rajab to make as a sign of honour the journey of Al-Isra wal Mi’raj. Allah says: “Glorified be He Who carried His servant [Muhammad] by night from the Inviolable Place of Worship to the Far Distant place of worship the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, that We might show him of Our tokens! Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Seer” S17 V1. It is also during this miraculous journey that the prophet (SAW) received for him and for his Ummah (community) the privilege of the five daily prayers. May Almighty Allah give us the merits of the sacred month of Rajab as well as those of the other sacred months and take us away from sins throughout the year and especially during the sacred months.
