Srinagar: The Union Home Ministry on Friday constituted a multi-disciplinary committee called “Terror Monitoring Group (TMG) ” for synergy and concerted action against militant funding and other militancy related activities in Jammu & Kashmir state. While ADGP , CID, Jammu & Kashmir Police has been appointed Chairman of the “terror monitoring group (TMG) those appointed as its members include IGP,JK Police, Additional Director IB, J&K, Representative of CBI, Representative of NIA, Representative of CBDT, Representative of CBIC and any member co-opted by the chairman of the “Terror Monitoring Group (TMG)”.
The order issued by the Union Home Ministry says that “terror monitoring group (TMG)” is authorized to take coordinated action in all registered cases relating to militancy, militant funding and militancy related activities and bring them to conclusion. The TMC has been also authorized to identify all key persons including leaders of organization involved in supporting militancy in any form and take concerted action against them . According to the order TMG has been authorized to investigate networks of various channels being used to fund militancy and militancy related activities and take coordinate action to stop flow of such funds. The order says that TMG has been also authorisedc to take action against hardcore sympathizers among government employees including teachers etc,providing overt and covert support to such activities
