Ramban: General Observer for Ramban and assembly segments, A.L Jarhad, Thursday convened separate meetings to review preparedness for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
District Election Officer (DEO), Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, ADC, Basharat Hussain, Deputy DEO, ARO, Ramban (ACR) Harbans Lal, ARO Banihal (SDM) Zameer Ahmed Rishu besides other concerned attended the meeting.
During the visit to Banihal assembly constituency, the Observer took stock of law and order situation and inter-district security arrangements for ensuring the smooth, free and fair election in the Ramban district.
He also visited polling stations established at High School, Thethar and Lower Middle School, Nowgam, Banihal to review the status of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) arrangements being made by the district administration for the convenience of voters especially for persons with disabilities.
During the meeting, DEO briefed the Observer about the election preparedness viz-a-viz Model Code of Conduct, Manpower management, EVM/VVPAT, material management, expenditure monitoring and ballot papers/postal ballots, training and SVEEP, IT applications, Transport management, communication plan, AMF at the polling stations.
DEO further added that district administration is fully prepared for ensuring the hassle-free and fair conduct of elections.
On the occasion, the Observer enjoined upon the concerned officers to work in coordination and cooperation for the smooth conduct of the election process in a fair, transparent and responsive manner.
