Srinagar: Kashmir business community and Civil Society on Saturday demanded that a time-bound Independent Special Commission of Inquiry should be establishment in the custodial death of Rizwan Asad of Awantipora.
They said: “The ISCI should be establishment in this case that could deter any future occurrence of any such instance.”
They were addressing a joint presser in Srinagar on Saturday. Rizwan, a principal of Sabir memorial public school was arrested by police and later shifted to Cargo, an interrogation center in Srinagar. He died while in police custody. The members raised questions as to why countless inquiries ordered earlier have been bereft of any concrete results.
“The ISCI should establish as to what happened and who is behind this gruesome death. Perpetrators of which should be brought to book,” they said.
They raised question over the inquiry already launched saying that it will also come to same fate as of earlier ordered inquiries. “The killers of Rizwan will again roam free, and will be more brazen in their action,” they rued. Police has already launched an inquiry into Rizwan’s death in Police custody. “Such acts need deep fact finding inquiries,” they told media.
