Jammu/May 06: Divisional Commissioner Jammu M. K. Bhandari Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Jammu city and took stock of the pace of progress on various developmental projects being executed by Jammu Development Authority.
The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, VC JDA Rajesh Shavan, SSP Police Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Traffic Nisha Nathyal, Commissioner JMC, and other senior officers of concerned departments.
During the tour, the Div Com visited sites of Multi-level car parking cum shopping complex at General Bus Stand, Semi Automatic Multilevel parking City Chowk and Maharaja Hari Singh Ji Park to inspect the ongoing construction.
While inspecting works at Multi level Car Parking at General Bus Stand and Semi Automatic Multilevel Car Parking at City Chowk, he directed the concerned engineers to expedite the work to ensure timely completion. He passed instructions to the engineers and contractors to accelerate the pace of work so that people are benefited at the earliest.
He was informed that construction work of Semi Automatic Multilevel Car Parking at City Chowk is in full swing and will be completed by the end of this June.
He also visited Maharaja Hari Singh Ji Park and was informed that it will be completed soon and besides a walking track, the park will have a coffee-shop-cum-library.
The Divisional Commissioner also visited Satwari and Gummat Chowk and took stock of traffic issues. He asked the SSP Traffic to ensure effective regulation of traffic movement in these areas.
Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner also convened a meeting with officers of civil and police administration and discussed measures for regulating unauthorized street vendors and removing encroachment for smooth traffic movement in city areas.
