Srinagar : The Srinagar administration Monday demolished an illegally raised double-storied shopping complex on State land here at Pantha Chowk.
The structure was raised in disregard of earlier prohibitions in December last year when an FIR under section 447A of RPC was registered against the violator.
Taking strong notice of the violation, the administration swung into action razing the structure to the ground.
The team involved in the demolition comprised officials from the Revenue and R&B departments assisted by Police. The SHO concerned has been asked to keep close watch over the land in question.
The administration has warned the general public against such violations and said illegal encroachments made on the State land anywhere in the district will be dealt with sternly under relevant sections of the law.
