Advisor (S) inspects sewerage treatment plants at Bhagwati Nagar Jmu

Jammu: Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma, Thursday inspected the progress on and working of various sewerage treatment plants at Bhagwati Nagar here.
During the visit to 27 MLD Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) being constructed by NBCC under JNURUM, the Advisor was informed that the Plant is based on ASP technology which has been designed to cater to the sewage effluence from Jammu East constituency.
The Advisor directed the officers to ensure that the Plant is made operationally soon with the available sewage flowing into the already laid network. He directed the concerned officers to roll out the immediate provision for dedicated PDD lines to the said Plant.
Sharma also visited the site of 30 MLD STP constructed by ERA under ADB funding under Sewerage scheme for Division A and Division B partly.
He was informed that the 30 MLD STP is based on NBBR technology and the plant is at present fully operational with around 10-12 MLD sewage flowing into it. The network connected with the Plant is mainly areas falling in Jammu division up to Janipur Nallah and Akhnoor road on one side.
The Advisor also enquired about the 10 MLD capacity STP constructed by UEED under State scheme based on UASB technology.
He was informed that the STP was put to operation in 2010 and is already operational in the same area.
The Plant caters to the sewage from the areas like Talab Tillo, Bhagawati Nagar and Mohinder Nagar.
The Advisor was accompanied by Financial Commissioner, H&UDD, K B Aggarwal, Chief Engineer, UEED, Satinder Singh Rana, GM NBCC, Kashmira Singh, SE UEED, Exen UEED, ERA, AEEs and other concerned officers.
