The meeting attended by State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Arun Manhas and State Coordinator Pedagogy Nazir Ahmad Reshi held threadbare discussions regarding upgradation of schools, conduct of training programs at Kargil, enhancement of the study tours of the students, provision of furniture for newly up-graded schools, provision of funds for construction of boundary wall for newly up-graded schools, approval for creation of supporting staff for newly established girls hostel as per MHRD norms and enhancement of MMER.
Construction of lavatories in newly up-graded schools, conduct of inquiry into reported construction of mud brick structure of new girls’ hostel, and timely conduct of tenders for ensuring execution of works were also discussed.
The officers assured the Chairman LC that all the concerns would be prioritized and it will be ensured that before the opening of the schools after winter vacations all the discussed issues are sorted out.
Manhas informed Chairman LC that the amount for study tour has been already enhanced and gave on spot direction to Coordinator SSA for ensuring that the first batch of students from High and Higher Secondary schools are taken for study tour during winter vacations.
Regarding the complaints of use of mud bricks in hostel building for girls, rationalization of tender process and conduct of training programs at Kargil, Manhas assured that he will personally look into it and make sure that there is no compromise in the execution of works.
