Jammu: DGP, Commandant General Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, V. K. Singh, assumed the charge of Director Fire & Emergency Services here Tuesday.
On his arrival at Fire & Emergency Services Headquarters Gandhi Nagar, Singh was presented a Guard of Honour by the Fire & Emergency Services contingent.
He inspected the Headquarter and interacted with the staff and issued directions to the concerned officers for quick response to ensure the public safety and commitment to the Fire Service motto.
The officers briefed the Director regarding preparations to deal with fire and other emergencies. The shortfall in terms of manpower and equipment were also discussed and the Director assured them that steps would be taken to attend to the deficiencies and make the organization more effective and efficient in its functioning.
He complimented the officers for the good and efficient work they have done on various operational grounds.
