Srinagar, Dec 29 : Four militants were on Saturday morning killed in a gunfight in Bunpora village of Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after a cordon and search operation was launched by the government forces in the wee hours.
The identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained and the mobile internet services have been suspended in the entire Pulwama district.
Reports said government forces launched a cordon and search operation during which militants fired on the forces triggering an encounter. Four militants were killed in the heavy exchange of fire between the militants and government forces.
Though police had asked the people not to move to encounter sites but the clashes broke out in the area soon after the news about the killing of militants spread.
