Er Tashi inspects Chilung Mini Hydel Project, reviews healthcare facilities at CHC Sankoo

Kargil: Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchoq Tashi Friday inspected the status of power generation at 1 MW Chilung Mini Hydel Project being run by the Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA).
The EC was accompanied by Councilor Taisuru Aga Syed Abbass Rizvi, Councilor Sankoo Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi, Councilor Thasgam Abdul Rahim, officers and engineers of KREDA and IMP, Lambardars, Sarpanchs and other concerned.
Meanwhile, 1 unit of 500 KW of the Hydel Project was charged Friday in presence of the EC which started producing power on trial basis for the adjoining villages like Khaws, Namsuru, Maita, Yuljuk, Taisuru, Panikhar, Choskor, Achambur, Thulus Pursa and Kochik. The 2 diesel generator sets of PDD at village Panikhar and Namsuru do not need to operate till the hydel project remians in operation.
The EC appreciated the team of engineers from KREDA and IMP Powers for successfully trial testing the project and congratulated the people of Taisuru block for getting the facility. He said it will go a long way in providing satisfactory power supply to the area.
Er Tashi urged upon the people to use power judiciously and avoid using electric appliances such as heaters, boilers etc to ensure its smooth running.
A large number of local people from the adjoining villages were also present on the occasion.
Later, the EC visited CHC Sankoo and inquired about the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients during the winter season.
Er Tashi went round different sections of the hospital including the Casualty Block, OPD Block and wards and interacted with indoor patients and attendants. He appreciated the medical staff of the CHC especially the BMO for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the hospital.
The EC instructed the CHC authorities to provide the best possible healthcare facilities to the people during the winter season.
