Srinagar/Dec, 17: A complete shutdown against the killing of seven civilians in Sarnoo village of Pulwama district last Saturday on third consecutive day on Monday hit normal life across Kashmir and parts of Chenab Valley. Meanwhile law enforcing authorities have imposed restrictions in most parts of Srinagar city to foil the protest march to Army cantonment Badami Bagh Srinagar against the unabatedly continuing spree of civilian killings in post gunfight clashes in Kashmir.
All shops and commercial establishments are closed and traffic is off the roads in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley.
Educational institutions are closed while the exams scheduled at the Kashmir University and other universities on Monday have been postponed.
Meanwhile law enforcing authorities have imposed seven restriction in seven police station areas in Srinagar including Khanyar, Nowhatta, M. R Gunj, Ram Munshibagh, Kralkud and Maisuma to foil a protest march to army cantonment Badami Bagh Srinagar by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against killing of seven civilians in Sirnoo village of Pulwama district last Saturday
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman , Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq the Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman and Mohammad Yasin Malik the JKLF Chairman – had called for shutdown and a protest march to Badami Bagh army cantonment in Srinagar Monday against the killing of seven civilians in Sirnoo village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district last Saturday.
On Saturday, seven civilians were killed and over 35 others injured after government forces fired at the protesters near the site of a gunfight that left three militants and a soldier dead in Sarnoo village of Pulwama.
