Srinagar: The Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) Chairman, Haji Mohammad Yasin Khan has condemned the continued bloodbath terming it “genocide” of Kashmiri’s Muslims by the government.
In a statement, Khan who also heads the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) said such dance of death cannot facilitate restoration of peace.
Khan in a statement said, in the garb of AFSPA, the government forces have been “unleashing terror” on innocent Kashmiris and that human rights violations have reached the proportions of war crimes, the government should feel ashamed for its failure to safeguard precious human life, this all suggests a strategic genocide.
“Kashmir dispute has historical background and context which can’t be ignored and dealing with it militarily and adopting a policy that includes killings will not work,” Khan said.
“The systematic killing of people of Kashmir needs an immediate end or that this preprogrammed genocide will backlash in the form of a never before agitation the onus of which will on the government and its forces,” Khan added.
Expressing sympathies with the bereaved families, Khan said such killings would only fester Kashmir crises than bring any fruitful results.
Khan appealed the international community to actively contribute towards the solution of Kashmir issue so that sustainable peace is restored in the subcontinent.
Massacre of Dozen Innocent Civilians at Pulwama Deserves Strongest Condemnation: Soz
Srinagar, Former Union Minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz Saturday strongly condemned the use of extremely excessive force at Pulwama by the forces in which a dozen innocent civilians are reported to have been killed.
While having condemned heart-rending killings, Soz raised a question for the Modi Government as to what it wants to achieve through the massacres in Kashmir, one after the other.
“The Central Govt. doesn’t see the writing on the wall that the number of killings through the use of excessive force generates enormous reaction by the armed militants and, therefore, the turmoil on ground.”
“In my opinion, the use of excessive force by the Army and Para-forces produces a wave of fresh recruitments into the armed militancy, all the time.”
“I am one of those who had been warning the Centre that its excessive use of force in Kashmir will never help it in any manner.”
Soz said that Modi Government should see a clear writing on the wall that the easiest way to settle Kashmir dispute is through the dialogue.
“I consider the Joint Resistance Leadership as a nucleolus that can ensure a purposeful dialogue to resolve the dispute in Kashmir.”
“In my opinion, the Joint Resistance Leadership offers a unique opportunity to the Central Government to initiate a purposeful dialogue in Kashmir, without losing any further time.”
Soz added that a number of senior Military Generals have been suggesting to the Central Govt. that the political problem can be resolved best through the political dialogue.
